Aralia Emergency Shelter

The Aralia Emergency Domestic Violence Shelter is located in an undisclosed location in the Montachusett region. We can house up to six women and their children in six bedrooms, with cribs available for infants or toddlers. The maximum stay at Aralia is 90 days. During that time, the woman is offered services to assist in her steps toward independence and self-empowerment. All services at the shelter are free of charge.

During her stay at Aralia, a woman will meet weekly with our full-time Case Manager. The case manager offers ongoing assistance in setting practical goals, problem solving and referrals to other agencies. Our Housing Advocate can assist shelter guests with researching the most appropriate housing options, applying for housing, clearing credit problems, and assistance with the move. Women who have children (either in the shelter with them or living elsewhere) may meet with our Childen's Advocate for both individual and group parenting sessions and support.

Aralia guests have several kinds of support groups available to them: Domestic Violence support groups, substance abuse groups, a personal care workshop, and a journaling group.

We also provide or assist with child care arrangements, transportation, referrals to legal services, children's educational advocacy, referrals to health care and mental health providers, and any other types of services and support our guests may need.
